Elena Rybakina retains WTA world number one ranking
Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina has maintained her position as the world number one in the WTA rankings for the fifth consecutive week, holding 9,696 points. She leads second-ranked Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus by 2,146 points.
Russian player Mirra Andreeva rose to a career-high third place with 6,371 points, overtaking Americans Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff, who dropped to fourth and fifth respectively. Despite losing the Beijing Open final to China's Zheng Qinwen, Andreeva achieved her best ranking to date.
Zheng Qinwen's victory in the Beijing Open final, where she defeated Andreeva 7-5, 6-4, marked the first time a Chinese player has won the singles title at the tournament since its inception in 2004. This win also propelled Zheng 31 places up the rankings to world number 23.
Other shifts in the top ten include advances for Ukraine's Elina Svitolina and Czechia's Karolina Muchova to sixth and seventh places, while Linda Noskova fell to eighth. Iga Swiatek remains ninth and Marta Kostyuk holds tenth.
