ELGA extends 2025 insurance contribution deadline to October 30
ELGA has announced an extension for the payment of the 2025 Special Insurance Contribution, setting a new deadline of October 30, 2026. This decision follows a Joint Ministerial Decision from the Ministries of Rural Development and Food and Finance.
Settling these contributions is a mandatory prerequisite for farmers to receive state subsidies and compensations. Specifically, producers must have a zero balance for their 2025 contributions by the October 30 deadline to qualify for the ‘Pre-anthesis 2025’ program, which offers payments ranging from 75 to 560 euros per stremma, as well as other pending settlements from the previous year.
Under Law 3877/2010, the administration emphasizes that no producer is entitled to compensation if they have not paid the insurance contribution for the year in which the damage occurred. The organization has notified insured producers of this extension via mass SMS messages.
