ELGA 2025 insurance contribution deadline extension
Overview
The Hellenic Agricultural Insurance Organization (ELGA) has extended the deadline for the 2025 Special Insurance Contribution to October 30, 2026. This extension follows a Joint Ministerial Decision from the Ministries of Rural Development and Food and Finance, as well as a decision by ELGA’s Board of Directors.
The original deadline for these contributions was July 31, 2026. Settling these payments is a mandatory legal requirement for farmers to remain eligible for state subsidies and insurance compensations. Specifically, producers must have a zero balance by the new October 30 deadline to qualify for the ‘Pre-anthesis 2025’ (or ‘Proanthiko 2025’) program and other pending settlements for damages recorded during 2025.
ELGA has notified insured producers of this change via SMS, warning that failure to meet the deadline will result in the loss of rights to receive compensation for damages incurred during the year.
