Elisa Carrillo headlines international dance gala in Puebla

The “Elisa Carrillo y Amigos 2026” gala was held at the Auditorio Metropolitano in Puebla, attracting over 5,000 attendees. The international classical dance spectacle featured Elisa Carrillo, a principal dancer with Staatsballett Berlin, alongside elite dancers from Japan, Russia, the United States, and Spain. The performance included 14 choreographies accompanied by a live symphony orchestra of more than 20 musicians.

Supported by the municipal government under Mayor Pepe Chedraui, the event was offered free of charge to the public. This initiative aligns with Puebla’s designation as the American Capital of Culture 2026. Beyond the cultural impact, the successful event and recent political appearances have been noted as indicators of Mayor Chedraui’s current standing and influence within the local political landscape.
