Elisa Carrillo to perform free ballet gala in Puebla

Renowned Mexican ballerina Elisa Carrillo will perform the “Elisa y sus Amigos” Star Gala at the Auditorio Metropolitano in Puebla on August 18. The event, which features an international cast and a live orchestra directed by Lizzi Ceniceros, will be free of charge to promote cultural accessibility.

In conjunction with the gala, Carrillo will lead a free ballet masterclass in the Zócalo of Puebla on August 17 as part of the 2026 Puebla International Book Fair. Due to high demand and the rapid exhaustion of tickets, the municipal government of Puebla, led by Mayor Pepe Chedraui, will install a screen in the Zócalo to allow more citizens to view the performances.

Carrillo, currently a First Ballerina at the Staatsballett Berlin, emphasized the importance of discipline and the transformative power of dance. The initiative is supported by the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture (IMACP) to position Puebla as a significant cultural destination.
