Elisha Owusu set to join Erzurumspor from AJ Auxerre

Ghanaian midfielder Elisha Owusu is set to transfer from French club AJ Auxerre to Erzurumspor, a newly promoted side in the Turkish Super Lig. The 28-year-old is expected to travel to Türkiye to finalize the move after a three-and-a-half-year tenure with Auxerre.

The transfer fee is reportedly approximately €1 million, potentially increasing with bonuses. This represents a profit for Auxerre, who acquired Owusu from Belgian club Gent in January 2023 for roughly €500,000. Owusu, who held the captaincy at Auxerre until the end of last season, remains under contract with the French side until June 2027.

Erzurumspor aims to utilize Owusu’s experience to bolster their midfield for their return to the Turkish top flight. The move follows a period of squad restructuring at Auxerre, during which Owusu was an unused substitute in a recent friendly against Werder Bremen. The deal is expected to be completed following a medical examination and the agreement of personal terms.
