Ellinikon redevelopment hits major 2026 milestones in Athens

Lamda Development reported that the Ellinikon Sports Park opened to the public in the first half of 2026, offering 287,000 m² of facilities including football, basketball and tennis fields, an Olympic‑size swimming pool and two synthetic 5×5 football pitches scheduled for completion by the end of 2026 and early 2027.

The adjacent Riviera Tower reached its structural target of 200 m and 50 floors, with exterior garden and outdoor areas expected to finish in 2027 and the first residents moving in thereafter. New premises for the Greek Gymnastics Federation were also delivered within the park.

Construction on the Ellinikon Mall has begun and the Discovery Zone attracted strong public interest. The site hosted the ECO Rally Acropolis on 25 June, drawing more than 10,000 spectators, 57 crews from 24 countries and extensive media coverage. In July, viewing nights for the World Cup semi‑finals and final attracted over 3,000 visitors. Lamda Development outlined a project timetable covering further deliveries through 2029.
