Els Poblets and Horta mayors coordinate flood relief in Valencia
Following the devastating floods caused by storm DANA Adam, municipalities in the Valencia region are coordinating relief efforts. In Els Poblets, local authorities have requested that volunteer groups and citizens refrain from organizing new collection drives or sending unsolicited materials without prior coordination. The city council stated it is currently saturated with the volume of supplies received and needs to manage existing stocks of cleaning products, gloves, and shovels before accepting more.
In a show of institutional solidarity, mayors from the Horta region, including representatives from Aldaia, Paterna, and Mislata, have visited Oliva, one of the hardest-hit areas. These leaders are mobilizing human and material resources, such as high-pressure washers, electrical generators, and water pumps, to assist in cleaning and recovery efforts. This movement mirrors the solidarity shown to these same municipalities during previous flooding events.
