ElvalHalcor drives 0.56% of Greece’s GDP and supports 20,900 jobs
A study by the Institute for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) finds that ElvalHalcor – one of Europe’s leading aluminium and copper manufacturers – contributed 0.56% of Greece’s GDP in 2025. The company generated a production value of €2.3 billion and exported €2.5 billion, accounting for 8.0% of Greece’s industrial exports (excluding oil). Its aluminium exports reached €1.75 billion, covering 63.4% of national aluminium shipments, while copper exports of €777 million represented 96.1% of the country’s copper output. ElvalHalcor sells to more than 90 countries, with about 95% of sales generated abroad.
The firm directly and indirectly sustained 20,920 jobs in 2025, creating roughly 6.2 additional positions per each job within the broader economy. Since 2018, ElvalHalcor has invested approximately €895 million in Greece, focusing on advanced technology, digital transformation and energy‑efficiency projects, which together account for about 10.8% of total sector investment in precious and non‑ferrous metals.
