ElvalHalcor contributes 0.56% of Greek GDP and €2.5 bn in exports in 2025

A study by the Institute of Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) shows that ElvalHalcor, a leading European aluminium and copper producer, accounted for 0.56 % of Greece’s GDP in 2025. The company recorded a production value of €2.3 bn and exported €2.5 bn, representing 8 % of the country’s industrial exports (excluding oil). Aluminium sales reached €1.75 bn, covering 63.4 % of national aluminium exports, while copper sales of €777 m made up 96.1 % of Greece’s copper exports.

ElvalHalcor’s activities directly and indirectly supported 20,920 jobs, with a multiplier effect of 6.2 jobs created in the wider economy for each internal position. Since 2018 the firm has invested roughly €895 m in Greece, focusing on digital transformation, energy efficiency and high‑tech production. About 95 % of its sales are exported to more than 90 countries, underlining its role as a driver of the country’s export‑oriented industrial sector.

The company also pursues sustainable manufacturing, offering low‑footprint aluminium and copper solutions for the energy transition, circular economy and electric‑mobility markets, reinforcing its strategic importance for Greece’s long‑term economic resilience.
