Gianfranco Cerboni summoned in Emanuela Orlandi disappearance case

The investigation into the 1983 disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi, the daughter of a papal envoy, may be approaching a breakthrough. A parliamentary commission investigating the case has summoned Gianfranco Cerboni, 63, to testify at the Palazzo San Macuto on Thursday, October 15.

Cerboni, known by the nickname ‘Giggetto’, was a member of the Magliana gang, a criminal organization that terrorized Rome during the 1970s and 1980s. He has previously been investigated in connection with the kidnappings of both Emanuela Orlandi and Mirella Gregori. The case has recently seen renewed interest following the discovery of DNA traces in a flute and the potential involvement of high-profile organized crime figures.
