Emart24 expands Cambodian presence via gas station partnerships
Emart24 Cambodia is expanding its retail footprint by launching gas station-integrated convenience stores in partnership with local energy company BVM Petroleum. Following a memorandum of understanding signed in July, the companies opened their first combined location, the BVM Kour Srov store, near National Highway 2 in southern Phnom Penh.
The strategy leverages Cambodia’s transportation landscape, where cars and motorcycles are primary modes of transport and public transit infrastructure is limited. By utilizing BVM’s existing gas station network, Emart24 aims to reach customers in provincial areas and along major transit routes beyond the capital.
The partnership plans to expand these integrated stores to a maximum of 50 locations. Emart24, which entered the Cambodian market in June 2024, currently operates 42 stores and aims to increase that number to 70 by the end of the year. The stores will offer a variety of products, including Korean food items such as tteokbokki and hot dogs, alongside snacks and beverages.
