Embraer delivers 2,000th E-Jet to Azul Linhas Aéreas
Embraer has reached a major milestone in commercial aviation by delivering its 2,000th E-Jet. The commemorative aircraft, an E195-E2, was handed over to the Brazilian carrier Azul Linhas Aéreas during a ceremony at Embraer’s facilities in São José dos Campos.
This achievement places the E-Jet program among the three largest commercial jet families in history, alongside the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320. Since entering service in 2004, the E-Jet family has accumulated approximately 48 million flight hours and transported more than 2.85 billion passengers across more than 90 airlines in 60 countries.
Azul, a long-time partner that began operations in 2008 using Embraer aircraft, now operates 140 units from the E-Jet family. The delivery of the 2,000th unit also marks the 50th E2 generation aircraft delivered to Azul.
