Embraer and Japan Airlines extend E-Jet maintenance agreement
Embraer and Japan Airlines (JAL) have renewed a multi-year agreement under the Embraer Pool Program to support JAL’s regional fleet. The contract covers maintenance, repair, and spare parts for 32 E170 and E190 aircraft operated by JAL subsidiary J-Air.
The agreement ensures rapid access to critical components by maintaining inventory near the airline’s operational bases, aiming to minimize disruptions and enhance aircraft reliability. Embraer reported that the E-Jet fleet has maintained a six-month service reliability average of 99.8%.
Separately, reports indicate that Japan Airlines is considering an order of approximately 20 regional jets, potentially choosing Embraer’s E2 over Airbus’s A220 to deepen its relationship with the Brazilian manufacturer.
