Emergency rescues conducted by Italian authorities in Castel Volturno and Ravenna
Emergency responders in Italy successfully completed two separate rescue operations involving individuals in distress.
In Castel Volturno, a 66-year-old hunter from Naples became trapped in mud up to his waist while walking in the La Piana area. Following cries for help heard by other hunters, firefighters from the Mondragone detachment arrived at the scene. The team successfully extracted the man, who was unable to move independently, without further injury.
In Ravenna, Carabinieri officers rescued a 74-year-old woman who had entered the Montone river. Responders were alerted to a person in an altered state near the intersection of via Ravegnana and via Argine Sinistro Montone. One officer entered the freezing river waters to reach the woman, who was almost entirely submerged, and pulled her to the shore with the assistance of a colleague. Both the woman and the officer involved were transported to the hospital for medical evaluation.
