Emergency rescues reported in La Piedad and Epazoyucan
In Michoacán, two workers were rescued after becoming intoxicated inside an abandoned cistern in La Piedad. The men, aged approximately 36 and 38, were performing waterproofing work when they lost consciousness, likely due to the accumulation of solvent vapors. Neighbors assisted in the rescue by breaking through the concrete structure to reach the men, who were then treated by paramedics and firefighters.
In Epazoyucan, authorities responded to a second hydrocarbon leak caused by a clandestine fuel tap in the locality of Xolostitla within ten days. During this incident, 15 people were evacuated from six nearby homes as a precaution. Personnel from Pemex, the National Defense, and the National Guard secured the area. This follows a similar incident on August 16, where a clandestine tap was disabled, resulting in two workers suffering burns from a fire.
