Overview

Emergency services in Mexico and Chile have responded to several hazardous incidents involving gas and chemical leaks.

In Mexico, authorities addressed an LPG leak from a cylinder in San José del Valle, which posed explosion risks but resulted in no injuries. In Chile, an ammonia leak from an abandoned cold storage facility in Maipú led to the evacuation of students at a nearby school, though no injuries were reported.

Subsequent incidents in Mexico included the rescue of two workers in La Piedad who lost consciousness due to solvent vapors in a cistern. Additionally, in Epazoyucan, a hydrocarbon leak caused by a clandestine fuel tap necessitated the evacuation of 15 people. This followed a previous incident on August 16 involving a similar tap that caused burns to two workers.
