Emergency responders in Brazil undergo specialized medical training
Health professionals and emergency responders in various Brazilian regions are participating in specialized training sessions to improve urgent care capabilities.
In Lagoinha do Piauí and Agricolândia, municipal health secretariats and the Instituto Doctor Cursos conducted training in Pre-Hospital Care (APH) and Basic Life Support. This initiative aims to prepare ambulance drivers and nursing staff for the upcoming implementation of the SAMU 192 emergency mobile service. The curriculum covered medical regulation, ambulance disinfection, and protocols for clinical, traumatic, obstetric, psychiatric, and cardiological emergencies.
In Piracicaba, the Military Police Aviation Base received training focused on infant airway obstruction. Led by Corporal Raphael Neris, the session provided updated first aid techniques, specifically demonstrating maneuvers to resolve choking in babies through back blows and chest compressions.
