Emergency response and medical training in Brazil and Europe

Overview

Emergency response teams and health professionals in Brazil and Portugal have undertaken specialized training to enhance disaster coordination and urgent care capabilities.

In Maringá, Brazil, over 100 professionals participated in a Fire Department simulation involving building collapses and search and rescue using thermal drones and dogs. This exercise aimed to prepare municipal agencies for extreme weather events. Similarly, in Penela, Portugal, the 35th Medical Response to Major Incidents course trained 141 multidisciplinary professionals, including doctors and civil protection commanders, to improve communication during multi-victim catastrophes.

In various Brazilian regions, including Lagoinha do Piauí and Agricolândia, training focused on Pre-Hospital Care and Basic Life Support to prepare for the implementation of the SAMU 192 emergency service. Additionally, in Piracicaba, the Military Police Aviation Base conducted training on infant airway obstruction maneuvers.
