Emergency service probe in Hungary and school attack in Poland
In Hungary, the National Ambulance Service (OMSZ) has launched an internal investigation following an incident in Szombathely. A high school student suffering from severe abdominal pain was reportedly denied an ambulance after a dispatcher cited a lack of capacity. A witness claimed the girl was eventually transported to the hospital by a passing motorist. While the witness reported being told no units were available, the OMSZ stated that there was available capacity in the region and is investigating the handling of the emergency call and communication protocols.
In Poland, a 21-year-old student injured three other female students with a dangerous object at a higher education institution in the Praga district of Warsaw. An employee disarmed the attacker before police arrived. One 17-year-old victim was hospitalized with arm wounds, while two others were treated at the scene. This incident follows a series of recent stabbings in the Mazovian Voivodeship, including an attack in Wyszków that resulted in the death of a school caretaker. Polish authorities have conducted widespread inspections of educational institutions and detained dozens of individuals in connection with online threats and recent violence.
