Emergency services in Argentina conduct disaster response drills

Emergency services in Argentina are conducting various training exercises to improve disaster response capabilities. In Avellaneda, volunteer firefighters from five local stations and two from Lanús participated in a large-scale drill. The exercise, held in Villa Domínico, focused on vehicle rescue, hazardous material containment, and high-altitude brigade tasks to enhance professional growth and response times.

In Córdoba, the municipality is organizing a flood simulation in the Villa Páez neighborhood to test responses to intense rainfall. The drill involves over 300 participants, including Civil Defense, the Army, the Red Cross, and various police and medical services. This exercise is part of the PREVENIR Project, a scientific cooperation between Argentina and Japan aimed at improving early warning systems for flash floods in vulnerable urban basins.
