Emergency services in Turkey conduct fire response training and drills

Emergency response teams in Turkey have conducted training and drills to improve fire and first aid readiness. In the Havza district of Samsun, fire department and 112 emergency health personnel participated in a training session covering fire formation, types of fires, intervention methods, and essential first aid procedures. Officials emphasized that correct initial interventions are critical for saving time before professional fire crews arrive on the scene.

In Osmaniye, the 112 Emergency Call Center conducted a surprise fire and rescue drill at its own facility. The scenario involved an electrical fire in the basement, leading to a building evacuation. During the exercise, AFAD, fire, health, and police teams responded to the simulated emergency. Rescuers successfully extracted three personnel—two who were affected by smoke and one who had evacuated to the roof—to test the coordination and reaction speed of the emergency services.
