Emergency services respond to separate accidents in Italy
Emergency responders in Italy managed two distinct rescue operations involving falls in mountainous terrain over the weekend.
In Monte Livata, a person fell into a ravine at Vallone dell’Autore on Sunday, October 25. Firefighters from Subiaco performed a complex rescue in the rugged area, carrying the individual on a spinal stretcher for approximately one kilometer. Due to the severity of the injuries and the difficulty of the terrain, the ARES118 air ambulance was deployed to transport the victim to a hospital for urgent medical care. The operation involved coordination between firefighters, Carabinieri, Park Guard agents, Alpine Rescue, and medical personnel.
In Lumezzane, a young man lost control of his motorcycle on Saturday, October 24, at Mount Dossone. The accident occurred at an altitude of approximately 850 meters when the rider fell five meters down a steep embankment into a wooded area. Firefighters from the Lumezzane detachment navigated the difficult slope to reach and stabilize the individual before transporting him to a safe area for medical treatment.
