EMHA registers 34 families in Brazil's Índio Forte Indigenous community

The Municipal Agency of Housing and Land Affairs (EMHA) conducted a field operation in the Índio Forte Indigenous community (Xunakó Kopénaty) in Jardim Inápolis. Teams collected and updated the documentation of 34 resident families, a legal step required to formalise land regularisation that has been pending for over twenty years. The on‑site assistance streamlined access to public services and allowed the municipality to link each family to its allotted lot. Community leaders, chief Julio Ribeiro Barbino and vice‑chief Juliana Moreira de Matos, praised the effort as a crucial move toward stability and the long‑awaited realisation of their aspirations. EMHA’s social sector director Maria Helena Bughi confirmed that the subdivision has already been approved and that the agency is proceeding to issue land titles, which will grant the families legal security and full rights to remain on the territory.
