Emilia-Romagna allocates funds for monumental tree conservation

The Emilia-Romagna Region has announced funding initiatives to protect and maintain its monumental trees. For 2026, 590,000 euros have been allocated to finance 67 specific interventions on trees protected at both regional and national levels.

These funds will support various activities, including health assessments, arboricultural work, soil and root system improvements, and structural consolidation. The program also covers measures to ensure public safety and the installation of dedicated signage.

Support will continue into 2027 through a new call for applications open to both public and private owners of monumental trees. Financial aid can cover up to 100% of eligible costs, with maximum grants of 15,000 euros for individual trees and 25,000 euros for groups or rows of trees. The deadline for submitting applications has been extended to October 30, 2026.
