Emirates and Madagascar partner to boost global tourism

The Madagascar Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts has signed a cooperation agreement with Emirates to increase the country's global tourism visibility. The partnership aims to leverage Emirates' international network, which connects nearly 140 destinations, to attract more foreign travelers to the island.

Strategic communication operations will be deployed across Europe, Africa, and the Americas. The initiative includes hosting tourism professionals and journalists in Madagascar to experience the country's sites firsthand. This move supports Madagascar's goal of reaching one million visitors by 2028.

Tourism in Madagascar has shown recent growth, with 331,000 visitors recorded in 2025, a 5% increase from the previous year. This growth has contributed to over 2,000 direct jobs and an expansion of the national accommodation capacity to over 34,000 units.
