Emirates tourism expansion in Africa

Overview

Emirates has entered into strategic partnerships with various African nations to expand international tourism visibility through its global aviation network.

In Madagascar, the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts signed a cooperation agreement to leverage Emirates’ connections to nearly 140 destinations. The initiative includes strategic communication across Europe, Africa, and the Americas, alongside hosting tourism professionals to support Madagascar’s goal of reaching one million visitors by 2028. This follows a period of growth in Madagascar, which recorded 331,000 visitors in 2025.

Similarly, Emirates signed a memorandum of understanding with Mozambique’s National Agency for Tourism Development and Investment (ANDITUR FP) during the Arabian Travel Market 2026. This collaboration focuses on exploring marketing opportunities in priority regions and organizing familiarization trips to promote Mozambique as an international destination.
