Emirates Skywards launches Skywards Rail for European train ticket redemption

Emirates Skywards has introduced the Skywards Rail platform, letting its more than 39 million members redeem airline miles – or a cash‑plus‑miles mix – for train tickets across Europe. The service covers over 12 000 rail destinations in 12 countries, working with more than 40 operators such as Eurostar, Deutsche Bahn, SNCF, Renfe, ÖBB and the UK’s rail network, plus high‑speed routes with Trenitalia and Italo.

Bookings are made through an online tool and a mobile app in several languages, with electronic tickets emailed to the traveler. Members can also use miles for family or friends. Senior Vice President Nejib Ben Khedher said the move responds to members’ demand for greater flexibility and creates seamless itineraries that combine flights and trains.

The launch expands Emirates’ intermodal travel options, adding rail to its existing flight‑train integration that already offers free re‑routing for delayed connections and consistent cabin class across modes.
