Emirates unveils electric Premium Economy seats with privacy screens

Emirates has unveiled a new generation of Premium Economy seating, debuting on its newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft. The airline claims these are the world’s first fully electrically powered Premium Economy seats to feature full-height, adjustable privacy screens between every seat.

The new cabin configuration follows a 2-3-2 layout with 28 seats. Each seat is 20 inches wide with a pitch of up to 39 inches and utilizes a cradle-style recline designed to prevent encroachment on the passenger behind. Passengers can control the privacy dividers and seating positions—including dedicated lounge and meal modes—via an integrated Passenger Control Unit.

Additional ergonomic and technological upgrades include the Safran Seats U-Dream leather headrest with adjustable wings, a manually operated leather footrest, and the introduction of wireless charging. The seats also feature USB-C ports, a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen for the ice entertainment system, and a tray table with an integrated smartphone holder.
