Empat Musim Pertiwi selected for Toronto International Film Festival 2026

Kamila Andini’s latest film, ‘Empat Musim Pertiwi’ (Four Seasons in Java), has been selected as one of the 20 featured international titles for the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film will premiere within the festival’s Centrepiece program, competing alongside hundreds of global entries.

Starring Putri Marino, the film follows the emotional journey of Pertiwi, a woman returning to her village after serving 20 years in prison for defending herself against attempted rape. The narrative, set against the visual backdrop of Mount Bromo, blends realistic drama with elements of myth and speculative fiction.

A collaborative production between Forka Films, Miles Films, and Imajinari, the project involves partners from France, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore. In addition to its appearance at TIFF, the film is scheduled for a world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival and a theatrical release on October 8.
