Director Kamila Andini’s new film, ‘Empat Musim Pertiwi’ (Four Seasons in Java), is preparing for international festival appearances. The production is a collaboration between several Indonesian firms and partners from France, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore. In addition to TIFF, the film is scheduled for a world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival and a theatrical release on October 8.

Recently, the Indonesian Oscar Selection Committee (IOSC) selected ‘Empat Musim Pertiwi’ to represent Indonesia in the Best International Feature Film category at the 99th Academy Awards in 2027. The selection followed a rigorous evaluation process, including special screenings in Jakarta. Beyond its scheduled appearances in Toronto and Busan, the film is also slated for screenings at the Tokyo International Film Festival.
