Empresa Portuaria Iquique board begins strategic regional meetings
The new Board of Directors of Empresa Portuaria Iquique (EPI) has initiated a series of strategic meetings with regional authorities and public-private actors to strengthen the Port of Iquique as a development driver for the Tarapacá Region.
Led by Board President Max Barrera, Vice President Ximena Cancino, and Director Sergio Telchi, the leadership team has met with figures including Senator Renzo Trisotti, Regional Presidential Delegate Adriana Tapia, and Iquique Mayor Mauricio Soria. Discussions also included the executive team of Iquique Terminal Internacional (ITI), the current port concessionaire.
Max Barrera announced that the port will soon enter a bidding process for the operation of the Port of Iquique, as the current concession is set to expire in 2030. The board aims to develop a comprehensive logistics policy for Tarapacá that integrates the port, the free trade zone, and foreign trade activities to transform Iquique into an international logistics hub.
