EnBW nears completion of 960 MW He Dreiht offshore wind farm
EnBW has reached a major milestone with the installation of 64 wind turbines at the ‘He Dreiht’ offshore wind farm in the North Sea. The project, representing an investment of approximately 2.4 billion euros, has a total installed capacity of 960 MW.
As of the end of June 2026, 59 of the 64 Vestas V236-15.0 MW turbines had been installed, with 43 already connected to the grid. The company expects to complete the installation of all turbines shortly, with full commissioning expected to be finalized gradually over the coming months.
The wind farm is connected to the power system via an offshore converter station and high-voltage cables spanning over 120 kilometers underwater. EnBW has already secured several power purchase agreements (PPA) for the site, including contracts with Google, DHL, and SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar.
