EnBW completes He Dreiht offshore wind farm

The project is notable for being among the first German offshore wind farms to operate without subsidies, instead utilizing long-term power purchase agreements with industrial consumers such as Google, Bosch, Deutsche Bahn, Fraport, DHL, and SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar.

While the project supports Germany’s target of 30 gigawatts of offshore wind capacity by 2030 and follows the nation's decision to decommission its last nuclear power plants, EnBW executives noted that costs for turbines, logistics, and cables have increased by 30 to 40 percent over the last five years.
