Endurance feats completed in the Beskids region
In the Beskids region, two distinct endurance feats were recently completed. One hiker concluded a 30-day journey covering 1,446 kilometers to raise funds for a child named Marcelinka. Carrying a 20-kilogram backpack, the trekker finished at Krzemieniec, where they were met by Border Guard officials. The journey, described as the most difficult of the hiker's life, included traversing the Bieszczady and Beskid Niski ranges.
Separately, approximately 3,000 participants competed in the Beskidzka Siódemka ultramarathon. The race required runners to cover a 101-kilometer route through the highest Beskid peaks within a 28-hour limit. Participants, including runners from the Zaolzie region, faced challenging weather conditions, including heavy rain and night-time fatigue. Top athletes completed the distance in 11 hours, while others, such as Daniel Niedoba, finished in approximately 23 hours and 42 minutes.
