BMW Motorrad wins Bol d'Or and secures historic EWC title

BMW Motorrad has secured a historic victory at the 89th Bol d’Or at Circuit Paul Ricard, marking the brand’s first FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC) title. The winning BMW n°37, ridden by Markus Reiterberger, Steven Odendaal, and Michael van der Mark, overcame a mechanical failure that cost them the title last year to claim the championship with a four-point lead over YART Yamaha.

BMW became the first European manufacturer to win the EWC world title. The team demonstrated dominance throughout the race, setting a new event record with 742 laps completed. The victory was characterized by superior fuel efficiency and consistent pit stop performance.

The podium was completed by Yoshimura SERT Motul (Suzuki n°12) in second place and F. C. C. TSR Honda France (Honda n°5) in third. The race saw significant attrition, with 20 of the 56 starting motorcycles forced to retire.
