Brazil Extends Enem 2026 Registration Fee Deadline to June 22

The Ministry of Education (MEC) and the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research (Inep) announced on Wednesday, June 17, that the deadline for paying the R$ 85 registration fee for the 2026 National High School Exam (Enem) has been extended to Monday, June 22. The extension was published in the official gazette and changes the original deadline, which was set for June 17.

Payment must be made through the Union Collection Guide (GRU) generated on the Inep participant portal, accessed with a Gov.br login. Accepted methods include Pix, credit or debit cards, and bank transfers via apps or agencies; payments by cash deposit, postal service, or direct bank account transfers are not accepted. The fee is non‑refundable except in cases of exam cancellation or duplicate payment, and transferring the fee to another person is prohibited.

Applicants exempt from payment include students in the third year of public high schools, low‑income students (family income up to 1.5 minimum wages), participants in the “Pé‑de‑Meia” program, and those registered in the federal CadÚnico social registry who intend to use the exam for high‑school certification. The Enem exams are scheduled for November 8 and 15, with the 2026 edition expanding to 95 new municipalities to improve access.
