ENERCON to build €50 M wind‑turbine blade factory in Bergama, Turkey

German wind‑turbine manufacturer ENERCON announced a €50 million investment to construct a new rotor‑blade production plant in the Bergama district of İzmir, Turkey. The facility is planned to start production in the fourth quarter of 2026 and will have an annual capacity of 150 blade‑sets, equivalent to three sets per year in its initial phase.

The plant is expected to create around 700 direct jobs and generate additional indirect employment through local supplier contracts. Production will primarily serve the Turkish market, with future supply to projects in Eastern and Southern Europe. ENERCON highlighted the project as part of its localisation strategy and a boost to Turkey’s renewable‑energy ecosystem.

The company also noted that its new E‑175 EP5 E2 turbine model, with a 7 MW capacity and 175‑metre rotor diameter, will be produced locally, supporting recent Turkish wind‑energy auctions and capacity agreements totalling more than 370 MW.
