Nordex orders and financing boost

Entities: Intesa Sanpaolo – IMI CIB Division · Commerzbank AG · UniCredit Bank GmbH · Nordex Group

Overview

In May 2026 ENERCON announced a €50 million blade‑factory in Turkey and Nordex opened a large rotor‑blade plant in Menemen, creating about 1,200 jobs. Nordex then secured a 110 MW contract for the Balıkesir‑3 wind farm, disclosed a 510 MW European order portfolio (including Turkey), and added a 484 MW on‑shore order book in the United States. By late June, WindEurope projected 439 GW of European wind capacity by 2030, while Nordex reported a 325 MW U.S. order on 29 June and contracts for over 197 MW of German on‑shore capacity on 1 July, highlighting its N163‑5 X turbine for low‑wind sites and prompting analyst upgrades.

On 7 July 2026 Nordex confirmed a 700 MW order from German developer UKA for 100 on‑shore turbines (N175/6.X and N163/6.X, each 7 MW) with multi‑year service and maintenance contracts, underpinning UKA’s goal of installing 1 GW of wind capacity in a calendar year.

On 27 July 2026 the company arranged a €2.475 billion ESG‑linked, multi‑currency guarantee facility covering five years to 2031. The syndicated facility, organized by Commerzbank, Intesa Sanpaolo and UniCredit and backed by 15 banks, replaces earlier financing, lowers guarantee‑related funding costs and adds flexibility for Nordex’s portfolio in more than 40 markets. Nordex’s CFO described it as the completion of a recent turnaround that strengthened the balance sheet, realigned operations and put the firm on track to meet its medium‑term targets, supporting the execution of existing orders and continued growth in the wind‑energy sector.
