Energy Data to invest 70 million lei in Săcele battery storage complex
Energy Data is launching a 70 million lei investment to construct a modern energy complex in Săcele, near Brașov. The project, which includes investors such as Mihai-Angelo Borcea, will span approximately 2.6 hectares.
The facility is designed to stabilize the national energy system by managing the variability of renewable sources. It will feature 135 Li-Ion batteries with a total power of 300 MW and a projected storage capacity of 600 MWh. The complex will also include a photovoltaic plant, a transformer station, and necessary infrastructure for connection to the national electricity grid.
The installation is intended to function bidirectionally, absorbing surplus energy from the grid and discharging it during periods of high demand to ensure grid flexibility and security.
