Energy providers in Germany restructure services and advance solar projects

The Rheingas Group is restructuring its energy technology operations to better address the evolving needs of private, commercial, and industrial customers. Effective October 1, 2026, existing energy technology activities will be consolidated into a new entity, RG Wärme- und Systemtechnik GmbH. This move aims to provide customized solutions for decentralized energy supply, particularly in rural or peripheral areas where standard grid infrastructure may be insufficient.

In a separate development regarding renewable energy infrastructure, the Asbachtal solar park project in Morsbach has been revived. After the local council previously rejected the planning phase for the largest of three planned photovoltaic areas, a revised proposal has secured a political majority. The project, led by RheinEnergie and AggerEnergie, involves a reduced area that has been moved 55 meters away from residential buildings to address local concerns. This decision allows the planning process for the solar park to resume.
