Energy providers Octopus and Engie launch fixed-rate utility plans in Italy

Energy providers Octopus and Engie are offering fixed-rate electricity and gas contracts in Italy to protect consumers from wholesale market volatility.

Octopus is offering the ‘Octopus Fissa 12M’ plan, which fixes the cost of raw materials and commercialization for 12 months. For electricity, the raw material cost is set at 0.176 €/kWh with a monthly commercialization fee of 6 €. For gas, the raw material cost is 0.81 €/Smc with a monthly commercialization fee of 7 €. These rates exclude VAT, taxes, and system charges such as transport and meter management.

Engie has introduced the ‘Energia Punto Fisso 12 Mesi’ promotion for residential users. This plan sets electricity raw material costs at 0.199 €/kWh and gas at 0.89 €/Smc, both with an annual fixed fee of 120 €. The electricity provided is sourced from renewable energy. Both offers are available for new activations through online procedures using standard supply identification codes.
