Energy transition initiatives launched in Vietnam and India
Vietnam's electricity authority and the Global Energy Alliance have signed a memorandum of understanding to advance the country's energy transition. The collaboration focuses on modernizing the power system, enhancing technical capabilities, and addressing grid congestion. A key component involves the ENTICE program, which utilizes artificial intelligence to manage battery energy storage systems (BESS) to stabilize the grid during periods of record peak demand.
In India, August Energy and Energeia have launched a USD 100 million partnership named August Energeia. This initiative aims to finance energy efficiency infrastructure projects, specifically targeting Cooling-as-a-Service (CaaS) for commercial and industrial customers. By utilizing an Energy-as-a-Service model, the partnership allows businesses to upgrade energy-intensive systems, such as cooling, heating, and renewable energy deployment, without requiring upfront capital investment.
