Enersa replaces high-voltage lines over the Paraná River

The state-owned energy company Enersa is executing a strategic infrastructure project to replace high-voltage conductors on the Paraná I and Paraná II lines. These lines cross the Paraná River, connecting the Paraná Norte transformer station with Rincón and Calchines in the Santa Fe province.

The project involves replacing approximately 4,400 meters of cabling in total using specially designed aluminum conductors with steel cores. According to Enersa president Uriel Brupbacher, the lines have suffered damage due to an accident occurring over 30 years ago, and previous repairs were only palliative. The new installation aims to restore nominal transport capacity and provide stability to the interconnected system by acting as an alternative power source between provinces during electrical failures or high demand.

To ensure safe navigation on the river, the work is being performed using a “controlled tension” technique, which keeps cables elevated to avoid interference. The Argentine Naval Prefecture is assisting with the operations on the navigable waterway. The total investment exceeds $160,000, and the work is being conducted without interrupting the electricity supply to residential users.
