ENGIE and ING Bank Romania launch RoPay instant payment integration

ENGIE Romania and ING Bank Romania have integrated the RoPay instant payment service into both digital platforms and physical customer service centers.

Online, customers can settle bills via the MyENGIE app or the company’s dedicated payment page. The process allows for confirmation directly through mobile banking apps without the need to input IBANs, card details, or save payment methods on the ENGIE platform.

In physical service centers, the service utilizes the SoftPOS app. Company representatives generate a QR code for the specific payment amount, which customers scan using their mobile banking applications. This integration marks the first time RoPay has been implemented within a SoftPOS application, aiming to provide greater flexibility for businesses by reducing reliance on traditional POS terminals.
