Engineering Forums in Argentina and Chile Emphasize Industry Collaboration

The 2026 Engineering Congress organized by the Colegio de Ingenieros de la Provincia de Buenos Aires gathered over 300 professionals in Mar del Plata to discuss challenges facing the Argentine food industry. Themes included technological innovation, food safety, water management, sustainability, automation and international market access. President Jorge Castellano highlighted engineering's role in improving production efficiency and resource use.

In Chile’s Magallanes region, the University of Magallanes hosted the "Vínculo 2026" symposium, bringing together academics, students and representatives from aquaculture and agriculture. Organized by the Faculty of Sciences and the Ciencia para la Innovación 2030 project, the event aimed to forge research partnerships, transfer technology and adapt curricula to regional industry needs. Participants stressed the importance of applied science for local development and future innovation.
