Engineering Schools in Chile and Mexico Forge New Industry Partnerships

Students from Universidad Diego Portales in Chile visited Rosen, a leading manufacturer of home and sleep products. The tour included 29 civil‑industrial engineering students meeting company engineers and learning about operations, culture and industry challenges.

The Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP) in Mexico announced the creation of immersive laboratories that use extended reality (virtual, augmented and mixed reality) to let industrial‑engineering and automotive‑engineering students practice on digital replicas of factories, vehicles and other complex systems. The labs aim to close the gap between classroom learning and real‑world industry demands.

At Universidad Madero, software‑engineering students built a custom event‑management application for the university’s communication and digital‑marketing department. Guided by faculty, the project followed a professional development process from requirements gathering to prototype testing, giving students hands‑on experience with real institutional needs.
