Eni CEO meets President el-Sisi to discuss energy investments in Egypt

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met with Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi in El Alamein to discuss the ongoing energy partnership between Egypt and the Italian energy giant. The meeting highlighted Eni's significant role in the Egyptian market, where its total investments have reached $8.5 billion.

Descalzi outlined an integrated investment program focused on exploration, development, and operation across various concession areas, including the Mediterranean and the Zohr gas field. The company plans to drill 30 exploratory wells and 200 development wells in the upcoming phase.

President el-Sisi emphasized Egypt's commitment to supporting Eni by providing necessary facilities and overcoming operational challenges to bolster Egypt's position as a regional gas hub. Additionally, the discussions touched upon Eni's community initiatives, including plans to develop and manage a hospital in Egypt.
