Enna, Italy Wildfires Prompt Evacuations and Large‑Scale Emergency Response

On 18 July 2026 a fire swept through hundreds of hectares of macchia mediterranea around Enna, Italy, threatening residential areas and an adjacent hospital. The blaze forced the temporary evacuation of several families and prompted authorities to advise residents to keep doors and windows closed and avoid unnecessary travel in the affected zones.
