Ennoconn acquires 48.36 percent stake in Kontron

Ennoconn Corporation, a subsidiary of the Taiwanese Foxconn group, has completed its settlement for a mandatory offer to acquire shares in the Austrian technology company Kontron. Following the transaction, Ennoconn holds a 48.36 percent stake in Kontron. While this falls short of an absolute majority of voting rights, Ennoconn remains the largest single shareholder.

Kontron will continue to operate as an independent company, with its existing management team led by CEO Hannes Niederhauser remaining in place. The strategic alliance aims to leverage Ennoconn and Foxconn’s manufacturing capacities and supply chains, with the partners targeting synergy effects of approximately 40 million euros.

The investment was approved by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action as part of a foreign direct investment review. Ennoconn has indicated that it does not currently plan to increase its stake further.
